PHENOMENOLOGY AND METAPHYSICS OF CHRISTIAN FAITH
Summary
This article presents the personal dimension of faith. In the Old Testament, faith is the secure trust in God's promise and leadership with relation to the people of Israel. True faith is demonstrated in the form of personal responses (Abraham, Moses, the Prophets). In the New Testament, faith is a concept for the relationship between God and human beings on the basis of God's saving activity for, in and through Jesus Christ. Faith is the personal, fundamental option in which a human being, through grace and trusting in God's power, specifically in Jesus Christ, responds in consensus with the Church with his confession of the saving event of revelation. In contrast to its the colloquial meanings (belief as suppose, be of the well-founded conviction, agree with an authority, trust in something based on probability) faith in its personal meaning is an absolute assent based on the inner certainty. The author refers to the phenomenological studies of M. Scheler , who distinguishes between faith (der Glaube, fides qua) and belief (das Glauber, fides quae). Faith is the orientation, attitude on the real existence in the sphere of the absolute - there is burdened with a value sense. In absolute value, which is God, can be answered in the form of faith absolute (full-person). The life of the Church from the very beginning is connected with searching for Her own identity which has its expression in the forming of the profession of faith. The testimonies of this fact can be found already in the Old Testament, which is shown in multifarious doctrinal formulas which are handed over by the apostolic proclamation which is based on them. In a relatively short time these formulas were gathered as a whole, first in the profession of faith used during the right of Baptism and later, especially in a profession of faith which is called the Apostles' Creed. It has preserved its significance and superior role in theology and preaching to this day although in reality its role has been diminished especially in preaching. This paper recommends the return to the Apostles' Creed and to its inspiring role. The most important thing is to present its doctrinal message which highlights the need for the holistic, Trinitarian and Christological perspective in reference to theological issues. Today, the Apostles' Creed can play the same role in the organisation of Church proclamation, which admiring the so called original kerygma falls into short-sighted interpretations and restrictions, resulting in the weakening of Christian identity.

THE HOLY TRINITY AND THE MYSTICAL EXPERIENCE
Summary
The mystery of the Holy Trinity constitutes a transcendental and original principle of the history of salvation and the first subject of Christian faith. Christian faith and Christian life are both shaped in relation to this mystery. Therefore we can speak about the primacy of the Holy Trinity in the faith, which finds its expression in the gradual development and in the overall shape of Christian doctrine. It is worth noticing, that the Holy Trinity is also a subject of mystical experience. Starting with the New Testament, especially St. Paul, we can observe in the Church a progressive development of the conviction that the most elevated relation with God, that is mystical relation, has to be Trinitarian in character. It has been shown by the criteria of the Christian mysticism elaborated in theology. A special manifestation of the mystical experience is “ecstasy". It is rooted in the symbol of faith which synthetically reveals the subject of faith, that is the Holy Trinity together with the specific character of Its redemptive action. God's lowering towards man constitutes the foundation of the based on faith, man's rising towards God. In the proper meaning this issue finds its justification in the experience and theology of Paul the Apostle.

THE SIX TRUTHS OF FAITH - THE ORIGINS AND SELECTED ASPECTS OF THE CONTENT
Summary
The six truths of faith, to which we refer in our catechetical tradition, deserves deeper analysis when it comes to both its origins and content. This article in its first part constitutes a supplementation of the article of Zbigniew Kubacki SJ dealing with the origins of the six truths of faith (“Studia Bobolanum" 30[2019] no. 4, 5-33),whereas second part points out the renewed need for the understanding of the truths taking into consideration the requirements of contemporary theology. It turns out that in such a perspective the six truths of faith preservesits value as a short formula of faith although certain supplementation could yet be made.

UNITY IN VARIETY. ELEMENTS OF A PROFESSION OF FAITH IN DOCUMENTS OF SYNODS FROM THE 1ST TO THE 3RD CENTURY
Summary
Faith has always been a significant element in the life of the Church community. However, before it was officially expressed in a profession of councils in Nice and Constantinople, the faith had been experienced and formed by local church communities. The opinions exchange and the necessity of protection from non-orthodox trends were the reason for bishops gathering in synods and searching for a common way to overcome increasing difficulties. The creed has been formed over centuries, using biblical expressions at first, and then the ones which derive from the world of pagan philosophy. This article presents development of elements common for the church creed in synod documents from the 1st to the 3rd century.

MARIAN DEVOTION OF POLISH WITNESSES OF FAITH ACCORDING TO PIOTR SKARGA AND JOHN PAUL II
Summary
A study of Piotr Skarga's and John Paul II's biographies of Polish saints from between the 10th and the 16th c. reveals that the saints represent many models of Marian devotion: from calling upon the Virgin Mother to following her attitudes. Thus, no evidence has been found for promoting and highlighting a specific model of Marian devotion. Indeed, some biographies even fail to mention the subject. Therefore, the hypothesis of a single and uniform Marian way of Polish saints must be refuted.
The study has also revealed an original model of Polishness in the period investigated. It had a universal dimension, approximating the idea of "Church". For example, St. Wojciech (Adalbert of Prague) is a patron saint of Poland and is regarded as a Polish saint.

Tra i concili dell'antichita cristiana un posto particolare occupa il Concilio di Calcedonia. La sua definizione della fede e il frutto del dibattito cristologico dei primi secoli. Nel presente articolo intitolato "Il Concilio di Calcedonia nel processo di formarsi della fede in Gesu Cristo" viene presentata la specificita della dichiarazione calcedonese (p. 1), basata sulla tradizione biblica e apostolica della Chiesa primitiva (p. 2). Essa e la sintesi delle antiche tradizioni cristologiche: antiochena, alessandrina e latina (p. 3). Viene sottolineato l'orientamento kerigmatico del documento conciliare (p. 4), la difesa di fronte al tentativo di elenizzare il kerigma cristiano (p. 5) e il contesto storico-salvifico e soteriologico della definizione (p. 6). Infine troviamo nell'articolo una riflessione riguardo alla chiave data dal Concilio di Calcedonia per la compresione piu profondamente cristiana della realta contemporanea (p. 7).

BETEILIGUNGSIDEE IN POLNISCHER GLAUBENSREFLEXION - ZUSSAMENFASSUNG
Die Aufgabe der Theologie ist es, den sich offenbarenden Gott dem Menschen nahezubringen - unter Berücksichtigung der vordringlichen Probleme des Menschen, was auch der Grund dafür ist, dass man über Theologien von verschiedenen Regionen und Nationen sagen darf. In Polen entwickelte sich die Theologie durch Generationen in einer Atmosphäre des Befreiungskampfes um die unveräußerlichen Werte der Person. Das führte zu einer in der Christentumsgeschichte einzigartigen Verbindung zwischen Patriotismus und Religion, wo die Bewahrung der Freiheit mit der Wahrung der Existenz zusammenhängte. Im Zentrum des Interesses stand also die menschliche Person, die ganzheitlich erfasst werden sollte - unter Beachtung all ihrer wesentlichen Dimensionen. So erscheint die Person als ein spezifischer Ausgangspunkt zum Verständnis der Welt, der anderen Personen und deren gegenseitigen Beziehungen. Es ist gerade die Kategorie der Beteiligung, die in der Theologie am besten ermöglicht, die soziale Dimension der menschlichen Person zu beschreiben und sie innerhalb der heilsgeschichtlichen Perspektive auf die trinitarische und christozentrische Dimension des christlichen Lebens zu beziehen.
