THE PURPOSE, METHOD AND PERSPECTIVES OF ANALYTIC THEOLOGY Summary Recently there has been an increased interest in classical theological matters by philosophers of religion and at the same time the positive attitude of theologians towards analytical tools which have been previously regarded as some kind of "language games". It seems that contemporary theology develops at two speeds, namely as an attempt to synthetic embracing of the whole reality but also as analytical search for consistency and coherence. This is the result of a long process which overcomes the paradigm of positivist logic and creates a program of the so-called analytic theology. The main text of this movement, published in 2009, formulated the basic tasks of analytical theology which is the continuation of philosophical theology. On the one hand it voices concern for conceptual clarity and focuses on the analysis of sentences with clear theological meanings. On the other hand, some representatives of analytic theology perceive its spiritual potential. Theoretical reasoning also serves the Christian way of virtues, both moral and intellectual. Molti antichi Istituti di studi superiori sono stati creati o dai Papi o con il coinvolgimento della Chiesa. E quindi nulla straordinario, come osserva Giovanni Paolo II, che: "Nata dal cuore della Chiesa, l'Università cattolica si inserisce nel solco della tradizione risalente all'origine stessa dell'Università come istituzione, e si é sempre rivelata un centro incomparabile di creatività e di irradiazione del sapere per il bene dell' umanitá" (Cost. Apost. Ex corde Ecclesiae). Anche oggi la Chiesa conscia della propria partecipazione alla costruzione della cultura e della civiltà, lungi dal rivendicare una situazione di privilegio sociale, rivendica per sé solo il diritto di essere ascoltata nel suo messaggio di fede e di carità. Per questo scopo rivendica anche il diritto di "istituire e dirigere Università di studi, che contribuiscano ad una più profonda cultura degli uomini e a una più piena promozione della persona umana ed altresì ad adempiere la funzione d'insegnare della Chiesa stessa" (CIC, can. 807). La legislazione canonica fa distinzione fra le Università e Facoltà ecclesiastiche e le Università e Facoltà cattoliche. Le Università e Facoltà ecclesiastiche sono "quelle che si occupano particolarmente della Rivelazione cristiana e di quelle discipline che ad essa sono connesse" (Cost. Apost. Sapientia christiana, Introd. III). Le Università e Facoltà cattoliche, invece, insegnano diverse discipline, cercando di illustrare la conoscenza umana alla luce del Vangelo. Lo scopo delle ricerche é di "attuare una presenza pubblica, stabile ed universale del pensiero cristiano, in tutto lo sforzo diretto a promuovere la cultura superiore, ed inoltre a formare tutti gli studenti, in modo che diventino uomini e donne veramente insigni per sapere, pronti a svolgere compiti impegnativi nella società e a testimoniare la loro fede di fronte al.… Mondo" (Il Conc. Vat. II, Dichiarazione su l'Educazione cristiana Gravissimum educationis, n. 10). É da notare, che in tutti i documenti della Chiesa non si parla di cultura cattolica, bensí di sapienza cristiana da immettere nella cultura al mondo contemporaneo i valori universali della religione e di coniugare le esigenze della storia con quelle della fede, e per quanto é possibile, armonizzarli con essa e di proiettare su di essi la luce del Vangelo. Again, during the first session of the Second Vatican Council fathers were trying to tackle this challenge. In Latin America the reception of the Council, in particular the issue of "Church of the poor" found its place fairly quickly. The Bishops giving the ecclesiological significance to this issue at the Second General Conference of the Bishops of Latin America in Medellin (1968) followed by the third conference in Puebla (1979) announced the need for a "preferential option for the poor". The language and the treatment of the poor has a new approach. In Polen entwickelte sich die Theologie durch Generationen in einer Atmosphäre des Befreiungskampfes um die unveräußerlichen Werte der Person. Das führte zu einer in der Christentumsgeschichte einzigartigen Verbindung zwischen Patriotismus und Religion, wo die Bewahrung der Freiheit mit der Wahrung der Existenz zusammenhängte. Im Zentrum des Interesses stand also die menschliche Person, die ganzheitlich erfasst werden sollte - unter Beachtung all ihrer wesentlichen Dimensionen. So erscheint die Person als ein spezifischer Ausgangspunkt zum Verständnis der Welt, der anderen Personen und deren gegenseitigen Beziehungen. The human experience of being amazed with God has been presented as a theological event - a grace of the ability to stand in awe of God, to get closer to Him and to speak about Him. The author of the article comes to the conclusion that the mission of a theologian is inseparably connected with cultivating the ability to be amazed with God and His works. This situation is provoked by the fact that today existence is orientated especially towards experience. This orientation, in turn, also influences theology and causes more and more appreciation of aesthetical categories. However, a proper "aestheticization" of theology needs a proper theological methodology. The spectrum of the interests of aesthetics is very large, and aesthetic categories themselves have been understood differently over the centuries. For this very reason a creative use of beauty in theology postulates a preliminary determination of the kinds of interaction between aesthetics and theology.
