The new "Ordo" of the Anointing of the Sick can be considered as one of the most significant fruits of this renewal. In fact, the new Ritual, with its articulation and richness of perspectives, presents a new vision of this sacrament. The most important amendment concerns its name which from the Sacrament of the dying (sacramentum exeuntium) becomes that of the sick (unctio infirmorum). The goal of my research is the deeper understanding of the presence of the Holy Spirit in the Anointing of the Sick through a study of the current rite. We will analyze the Ritual from the pneumatological point of view and then arrive at a doctrinal synthesis. The method used is also comparative, because I would like to highlight the differences between the texts of the old Ritual (1614) to those of the current liturgy (1972). The main question is this: How is the presence and action of the Holy Spirit expressed in the new Ordo. odsłon: 147 Królikowski, J., Teologia jako nauka i jako mądrość, Teologia w Polsce 15,2 (2021) s. 7-32 ![]() THEOLOGY AS A SCIENCE AND WISDOM Summary Theological tradition sends a clear message about the scientific status of theology and at the same time it emphasises its sapiential dimension. The need for the development of this dimension is recurrently taken up in the discussions over the method of theology, but of course, with the simultaneous maintenance of its scientific status appropriately adapted to spiritual needs of our times. This article proposes the way in which today such a perspective on theology could be pursued in a methodically justified way. It is highlighted that the reference to wisdom is relevant to what is today described as the involvement of science into social and cultural life, and coincidentally the practical aspect of theology which in the first place remains a speculative science is also demonstrated. In the same sense theology remains a church science which above all stays in the service of the Church and participates in its own way in the mission of the Church. odsłon: 325 Naab, E., Juden, Christen und der Gesalbte, Teologia w Polsce 15,2 (2021) s. 95-107 ![]() JEWS, CHRISTIANS AND THE MESSIAH Summary The relationship between Jews and Christians is understood in the theology of St. Paul especially through the image of the olive tree. It speaks of the common root and the original (Jewish) and grafted (pagan) branches, but it does not speak of the trunk of the olive tree. Where is the place for Christ in this picture about Jewish roots and believers from Jews and Gentiles? In order not to deviate completely from the sense of Paul's conception, we ask about the trunk of the olive tree. This emphasizes the permanent belonging of Christians to their Jewish origin and gives an impulse to understand the Christ-Messiah who is one in the Head and in the members. odsłon: 142 Naab, E., Synodalność w nauczaniu i pontyfikacie Jana Pawła II, Teologia w Polsce 15,2 (2021) s. 109-130 ![]() SINODALITY IN THE TEACHING AND PONTIFICATE OF JOHN PAUL II Summary The article presents the issue by showing the relationship of synodality with collegiality, with the ecclesiology of communion, with the renewal of the Church and with the new evangelization. John Paul II's understanding of synodality was influenced by his participation in the Second Vatican Council and the Council's debate on collegiality. With the reception of the Council's doctrine through local synods and the Synod of Bishops, the connection of synodality with the collegiality of the bishops and at the same time with the community of the Church working together with the hierarchy became apparent. The Pope referred to synods as a “school" of ecclesial communion and mission. The formation of an attitude of participation in Christ's mission played an important role in creating communion. Synodal interaction between bishops, clergy and laity, thanks to this theological grounding, leads to a synthesis of ecclesial structures with the attitude of mature faith. In this way synods, or synodal practice, become important “instruments" for the realization of the Church's communion and the intensification of her mission. odsłon: 145 Warzeszak, J., Teologia modlitw maryjnych Jana Pawła II, Teologia w Polsce 15,2 (2021) s. 33-79 ![]() THE THEOLOGY OF THE MARIAN PRAYERS OF JOHN PAUL II Summary The author of this article analyzes the theology present in several dozen Marian prayers that John Paul II prayed in Rome, Italy and in various Marian shrines around the world. The author points out that a specific Mariology has been preserved in them; on one hand, very theologically rigorous, based on biblical and theological foundations, and on the other hand, tinged with love, piety and childlike devotion. All Mariological dogmas are recalled, although God's motherhood and motherhood towards the Church are most frequently invoked. It is therefore a wellfounded Mariology, though not abstract, distant from human being, but one that motivates action, prayer, contemplation, moral and pastoral effort, and filial love for the heavenly Mother. It is also Mariology practiced in a way in the context of experienced matters and problems, and therefore extremely existential, as evidenced by the requests addressed to “our Mother" for support in life's difficulties. The entrustments made by the pope in various shrines or in front of the icons or statues of the Mother of God were undoubtedly intended to leave the local people under the protection of the Mother of God. They also had educational significance: they taught to pray to Our Lady, to call upon Her help, to ignite among the people love for Her. It is not necessary to show how his Marian attitude had a profound effect on Marian devotion in the universal Church and in every local Church he visited. odsłon: 94 |
